Dear families and students,

We are delighted to share a new opportunity to join Sphere International School Granja Viana.

For the 2027 school year, students joining Year 5, Year 6 and Year 7 may take part in the Scholarship Selection Process. Depending on their academic performance and the established socioeconomic criteria, candidates may apply for scholarships of up to 100% off the regular monthly fee.

Below you will find the stages and criteria of the selection process.

  1. First stage Academic assessment 7 November 2026
  2. Second stage Social scholarships Full (100%) or partial (50%)

First stage

Academic assessment

All registered candidates must sit an assessment on 7 November 2026, covering content from the school year they are currently in.

The assessment will consist of:

  • Mathematics

    10 multiple-choice questions;

  • Portuguese

    10 multiple-choice questions;

  • English

    10 multiple-choice questions;

  • Essay

    writing a text in response to a prompt.

The assessment result will determine the percentage of the academic merit discount, according to the number of correct answers, and may reach 30% off the 2027 monthly fee, in line with the criteria defined for the process.

Second stage

Social scholarships

Candidates scoring above 70% and meeting a specific income profile will be invited to take part in the second phase of the selection process.

This stage will include:

  1. Interview with the Pedagogical Coordination team
  2. Sharing and review of the family's socioeconomic information
  3. Verification of the eligibility criteria for social scholarships

Social scholarships may be full (100%) or partial (50%), according to the programme rules and the availability of places.

To apply for this type of scholarship, in addition to performing well academically and taking part in the interview, the family must prove that it meets the socioeconomic criteria applicable to CEBAS — Certificado de Entidade Beneficente de Assistência Social (the Brazilian certificate for charitable social assistance organisations).

Families selected for the second stage will receive specific guidance on the criteria and the documents required for the socioeconomic review.

How discounts apply

  1. All scholarship and discount percentages provided for in this selection process will apply exclusively to the regular Sphere monthly fees.

  2. Discounts will not apply to teaching materials, meals or other additional services.

  3. Taking part in the selection process does not guarantee a scholarship. Discounts will be awarded according to the results obtained, compliance with the established criteria and, where applicable, approval in the socioeconomic stage.
